Description
|
The group formed in April 1997 as the Dublin Hepatitis C Support
Group (aka "Hepcats"), meeting once a month in Rathfarnham,
on the outskirts of the city. In May 1998 we moved to a more central venue
in the Blessed Sacrament Church Hall, Bachelors Walk. In early 1999 we
changed our name to Hepcats-The Liver Wellness Group, which better reflects
our aims and aspirations. We also adopted a new logo, which incorporates
the symbols of both Eastern and Western medicine. A second monthly meeting
started in Rialto in June 1999. Aside from general support groups, we
have hosted many talks and workshops with various participants, including
Dr. Dermot Kelleher, head of the Hepatology Unit in St. James, Hospital,
Dublin, Jo Campion, a psychologist specialising in Hepatitis C and John
Tindall, director of the UK based Yuan Institute, which treats Hepatitis
C with Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Aims and Objectives
To promote liver wellness, to share our experience and knowledge about Hepatitis
C, and to improve our quality of life. |
