Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation is a charitable voluntary organisation that provides primarily a home-based palliative care service in Counties Mayo and Roscommon in the west of Ireland. For patients requiring in-patient treatment and care, it is the Foundation's policy to provide the required number of Hospice Beds as close as possible to the patients' homes, their families and friends. This is achieved by locating beds in Health Board Hospitals/Nursing Homes within the Foundation's catchment area.
The Foundation's goal is to provide the active total care of patients whose illness no longer responds to curative treatment. This service enables patients to live out the remainder of their lives in comfort and dignity, surrounded by their families and friends.
