There are six Simon Communities in the Republic of Ireland, located in Cork, Dublin, Dundalk and Galway, with two new communities established in the Midlands and the South-East. Each local community is independent and responsible for running its own projects. The communities together with the federation office in Dublin form the Simon Communities of Ireland, which provide a structure to work towards national goals.

Aims and Objectives
Our Vision:

  • There is no homelessness
  • Compassion, respect and empathy are the core of our relationships
  • Justice, equality and social inclusion are central to state policy
Our Mission:

  • Develop preventative strategies that will divert people from becoming homeless
  • Campaign for the right to appropriate accommodation and responsive services for those who are homeless
  • Provide quality care, accommodation and services which support and empower people who are homeless, marginalised, vulnerable or socially excluded

Working directly with rough sleepers to link them into mainstream services and offer care when living on the street. Offer support to those formerly homeless living in their own house

Emergency Shelter
shelter for 30 people, offering safe accommodation, good quality food and support through designated project workers

Transition Housing
A "stepping stone" from emergency to permanent accommodation, offering places to 20 people motivated to move out of homelessness

Permanent Shared Housing
2 houses in Sean MacDermott St and North Circular Rd, providing permanent accommodation with support for a total of 40 men and women who have difficulty living independently.

The Settlement and Training project is part of the Dublin Simon Community's strategy to break the cycle of homelessness and support people to establish a stable lifestyle

Campaigning and Research
Dublin Simon Community believes that good quality and affordable housing is a right to everyone in Irish society. We campaign for the achievement of this right and research to ensure quality provision.
