The Diabetes Federation
of Ireland is a registered charitable organisation dependent
solely on voluntary donations to fund its activities. The Diabetes
Federation of Ireland has been established for over 30 years
and has 21 local support branches throughout the country. All
committees are composed of volunteers from the medical profession
interested in the care and treatment of people with diabetes
and of people living with diabetes themselves.
Aims and Objectives: The aims of the Diabetes Federation of Ireland are:
To represent people with diabetes
To help and provide information for people with diabetes, their families and the community
To create awareness and to foster programmes for the early detection and prevention of diabetes
To support and encourage advances in diabetes care and research
To raise funds which will make the achievement of these aims possible.
Services
It is four Associations in one:
A Professional Association - promoting policies which benefit dental practice and dental care
A Professional Representative Body - representing every dentist throughout the country
A Scientific Society - promoting higher standards and improvements in oral health
A Service Organisation - providing a wide range of individual services for members
