Description
Fighting Blindness is totally committed to finding treatments and cures for all forms of blindness and related sensory loss through the funding and promotion of Irish research. We provide support to those who are affected by degenerative blinding conditions and information to all interested parties.

Services
In addition to promoting research Fighting Blindness has established the Insight Counselling Centre. The Centre offers professional counselling of the highest clinical standard to individuals with visual impairment, their families and significant others. Insight Counselling Centre offers a range of options to clients, depending on individual needs: Short-Term Crisis Counselling, Long-Term Individual Psychotherapy, Couple and Family Therapy, Group Therapy and Support Group Meetings.

Mary Lavelle a clinical psychologist with extensive experience in this field and is herself a member of Fighting Blindness. If you would like to make an appointment with Mary or if you require information on local and national support meetings contact Ann Cooke at 01 674 6496.
