I was advised that my appt was for 2.30 and not 12.30 - impossible because I had to do a school run and wouldn't have made appointment for after 2. I was, however, seen very rapidly between patients for about two minutes. I was referred for X-ray and as I proceeded up the corridor, a very rude staff member shouted after me in front of a full waiting area 'Excuse me Madam, you haven't paid'. I advised her that I was referred for X-ray and she backed down. X-ray staff very good. Handed back X-rays and got a voicemail on mobile in afternoon advising that I had arthritis. E200 for that. I have since been cured by injection from another specialist. Pure money making racket because no one is interested in patient care...

Very long waiting list to be seen by a consultant. Then even a longer waiting list before my proceedure. I ended up going elsewhere for the proceedure.

I was in one particular ward and I needed more pain relief as a nerve block was wearing off. The nurses stonewalled me, they just kept saying "you are not charted for anything else". They made no attempt to help me for example asking the doctor if I could have anything else or assisting me with non medication pain relief. I felt helpless & frustrated so rang the doctors secretary to but received no reply.Luckily I had my own anti inflammatories & pain killers so I took them and I would never do that normally but desperate times...The nurses do not want to use bed pans-I could hear them complaining outside my door and one pointed to the toilet door&when I told her I could not feel my leg she lifted my sheet to see what operation I had (because you know how we all love tricking nurses into letting us use bedpans)I had been in another ward previously for the same type of surgery & much preferred the treatment I received. Very different experience to the one I had last time.

This hospital is so clean and all of the staff I encountered were really professional, efficient and friendly. I had surgery there by Dr Alan Laing and I could not rate him highly enough. He is a really nice man, a perfectionist at his surgery, professional with a great bedside manner and he really listened to me.

It appeared at times that there wasn't enough staff on for the amount of patients to be looked after and sometimes would be waiting a good few minutes before the would be answered. Overall, the staff were lovely and empathetic.

I was only there for a short while but the care I got was excellent and the professional and friendly manner of staff made a difficult procedure as easy for me as possible and I felt the support of everyone.

Hospital hygiene was exceptional, there were alcohol hand rubs at every entrance. I observed hospital staff washing their hands on many occasions. I would like to commend the staff and infection control team for their diligence in making my health their priority.

This is the first hospital where I felt like a person from the moment I walked through the door to the moment I walked out. Every one smiles, it's quite an experience, I've never been anywhere like it.

Felt the food was really poor. Long periods between any checks by nursing staff.

The worst hospital I have ever stayed in from the time I walked through the door until the time I walked back out. I would never, ever recommend this hospital or the consultant to my worst enemy, totally dissatisfied with everything.

The nurses were absolutely amazing to me. I could not have asked for better care if I tried. They were so friendly, caring, patient and always listened to me. They were top notch.

The hospital is absolutely spotless! Never seen a hospital like it before and I've unfortunately seen many. The entire staff, from cleaners to tea ladies, to nurses, doctors secretaries, receptionists - everyone was so so unbelievably down to earth. Again a huge thank you to all the staff.

I was in the Day Ward for a procedure and found all the nursing staff to be very helpful and caring. Also the theatre staff explained all that was going to happen as well as Mr Peter van Geene himself. Unfortunately he could not do procedure because of complications, but talked to me afterwards to give me different options that were now opened to me.

My daughter aged four got her tonsils and adenoids removed. Dr. Reily and the staff gave excellent care. Would recommend to anyone. Room was immaculate also.

Generally people are very anxious to get out of hospital after their surgery however if I was requested to stay another week it would not have been a problem! Aut Even was a breath of fresh air! We hear so many accounts of peoples bad experiences in today's economy, that I am so delighted to be in a position to say how wonderful my experience was! Hopefully I wont need hospital for a while again but if and when that day comes Aut Even will be my first port of call! A very big thank you to all at Aut Even!!!

Only complaint - I asked a tea lady one night for one extra cup of tea for a visitor and I was very rudely refused. The whole of the ward and their visitors heard her answer which was very short. One does not expect this in a private hospital.

Hospital very clean but the day surgery unit was like a cattle mart. Get in wait a few hours until the doctor is ready for you, get it done and get out.

My experience in Aut Even was similar to staying in a 5 star hotel, from the moment I arrived at reception to my departure next day I was treated with dignity, professionalism, respect and kindness. My experience was very positive and pleasant.

In view of the cost, the food was abysmal. I would suggest that any future patient take steps to get a relative to bring food in. Everything else great, why spoil it?

Given the quality of care, the food was a disaster - lack of choice, food served on plates which were too small for the amount of food. Breakfast couldn't have been worse - porridge luke warm, no other choice, toast and marmalade, no yoghurts, a small orange juice and tea, no coffee. Lunch - soup lashed with salt. Main meal heaped on plate, no choice given, nice crockery.

I cannot fill in the box above because from the consultant Mr Laing and his team to the security officer greeting me early in the morning at reception EVERYBODY I had dealings with during my 2 visits to Aut Even in Jan/ Mar 2010 was extremely friendly, professional, efficient and helpful. Outstanding service all around!
