Dr Paul Murphy has to be singled out as an outstanding doctor who at all times takes the time to explain clearly and concisely his proposed plan of treatment. It is very difficult at times being a chronic pain patient as one feels that people do not believe that they have the pain that they say they have. I am (or was) a nurse myself so l can really identify with this. l am not saying that all medical personnel don't believe someone when they say they have pain but speaking from experience l never could have imagined how wearing, severe and debilitating nerve pain could be until l had it myself. Dr Murphy and the nurses who work with him on the wards and in theatre are so genuine in their concern for you and are always trying their utmost to help alleviate your pain. Dr Murphy himself although he has to listen to the woes of so many patients l'm sure including myself always treats you as an individual and takes the TIME to discuss the best plan of action for you. So thank you to Mr Murphy, the nurses, pharmacists, phlebotomists, anaesthetists, radiographers, kitchen staff, porters, cleaners, pastoral care teams, ward clerks, admin staff and all those who l have forgotten to mention at St Vincent's private.

The nursing staff on Cypress Ward provided excellent care following my hip replacement . In particular, staff nurse Sinead Robinson looked after me when I occasionally woke in pain during the night, providing medication, and a most welcome and initially unexpected cup of tea, which helped me until the pain was alleviated. She is a nurse in a million.
