| S.T.D. testing available where? |
How can I arrange to be tested for all sexually transmitted diseases? Can they all be detected, and what do the tests involve? |
| The Doctor says... |
You can arrange to be tested through your GP or alternatively you can attend an S.T.D. (sexually transmitted disease) clinic. These clinics are provided in several hospitals throughout the country and the service is provided on a strictly anonymous and confidential basis. If the service is available in your nearest hospital simply ring up and you will be put though to the clinic’s confidential phone line. Comprehensive testing is available in Ireland. Testing involves blood sampling, urine testing and swab testing. HIV testing can be included as part of the screening programme. Treatment and follow up is provided. |
