Testicular lump

I have a small lump on my left testicle and I was wondering if this could be cancer or is it normal to have such a lump? I’m 22 and when I touch the lump it doesn’t hurt.

The Doctor says...

Whenever a man presents to me with a lump in the testicle I always ask him to show me the lump. Most of the time it turns out that the suspicious swelling is actually part of the normal anatomy and is not due to disease. The testicle is not the only structure contained within the scrotal sac. The sac also contains the epididymis, the vas and an artery and vein. Many men who present with concerns about testicular lumps are actually feeling the epididymis. Given your age it is unlikely that the lump is sinister however you should have it checked by your GP.
