'Prehistoric' hospital IT slammed

Another typical example of give me "one" IT system for "my" speciality within "my" hosptial to solve 'my' problems... thus increasing the "islands" of unconnected IT systems across the Irish health service on which patient information is processed. (Lets re-invent the wheel again and again and buy loads more new separate systems! that'll fix it?!)

May be the IMO should debate the following -

"Patient Information sharing, can we, should we?"

"Common Systems - that actually integrate with each other"

"Putting the patient at the centre - its their information"

Are "we" afraid to share information for fear of reprisal?
