Try the natural way like using homeopathic strategies like arsenicum album.  Less adverse effects because it's natural and safe.

cjackson,

Thanks for the reply! have you used this before and what is the best way to wean myself off this betacap lotion as it has very strange side effects, it clears my condition but when i stop taking it,after a couple of days i am like a demon, until i use it again and i can actually feel my whole body cooling down and my problem disappears, for a few days. It makes me feel constantly tired and i have gained about 5 stone in weight since i started using it.

To the last poster, you have discovered the major problem with using potent steroid applications on the skin - they appear to clear the problem but as soon as stopped there is a rebound flare up. The only solution is to wean yourself off the Betacapwith a weaker steroid preparation and then find a non-steroid alternative to use. Maybe talk to your GP or your pharmacist aabout this.

I have had i very iychy rash on my scalp and neck for the pass few years and find it very hard to clear, i have seen a doctor and skin specialist about this and was giving a lotion for my scalp which is called Betacap lotion. This works very well but it knocks me for six! when i use it it has a steroid in it and i now find myself hooked on this and have to use it twice aweek to clear my skin, has anybody used this lotion and does it have the same affect on you?. I would be greatful for any response's on this.

P.S. I find that when i stop using it that my skin gets very itchy, all over my body.

To the person who used betnovate cream, it does work eventually as I had the same problem, I went back to my Doctor who said to keep using the cream and it cleared up after a few weeks.

Try and take evening primrose oil supplements or cod liver oil supplements.

Re the post on dry itchy blisters on the skin - I get this on my right thumb only - my doctor said it could be build up of soap from under a ring - I've swapped my ring over to my other hand and in the past 8 weeks have not noticed a difference. Have tried using non-allergenic soaps and intensive moisturisers, but to no avail. Would like to hear of a cure as though it's only a small patch, it can itch like mad and I think it looks unsightly, although I doubt if anybody else would notice it!

I also get tiny blisters on my right hand only and they are itchy and the blisters burst and the skin peels and becomes very dry. I have tried alot of creams and ontiments and even I got Betnovate cream from the doctor and it hasn't made a bit of difference. Would welcome a cure!

from time to time especially in very warm weather i tend to get clusters of very tiny water blisters over my fingers, then the skin peels off as if blisters burst, it is not painful or obvious until skin peels. I tried nearly everything - any suggestions?

My skin is dry, especially after swimming, which I do regularly. I am in my late sixties, so I take it for granted. If it is itchy and hot I rub in Astral cream. Then it disappears. I do not see it as a problem.

a few years ago i developed very itchy sore patches on my toes, the doctor checked it out and it definetly was not fungal but he did not know what it was, the condition cleared up after about nine months. Now two years later it seems to be coming back again. Any ideas?

I use aqueous cream to control my dry skin and it works a treat. I also wash with emulsifying ointment. Both products are very inexpensive and are non-prescription products.

Hi I sometimes have very dry skin and I use almond oil and it seems to work I sometimes also combine it with red clay it works very well for dry skin because it gives your skin natural minerals, you put it on and leave it for about 20 minutes and then you can cleanse it with plenty of lukewarm water you can notice the difference straight away

Hi
I had the same problem. I think it may be food intolerances that cause this so you could look into that. I found vaseline intensive care cream (in the yellow bottle) the best. I recommended it to others and they have found it the best cream too. I also tried taking some halibut liver oil tablets these seemed to help but may not be necessary depending on your diet.

Now and then I get dry flaky, red patches on my face. It is very disfiguring and I would like to know if there is something I could use to control it.
