This is meant to be a discussion group not a market!
Quit the promotions lads, if a defib is needed for any area, if the groups that want it cannot source it themselves there is no hope for them using it!

A brilliant invention.It would be
terrific if each family had one
in their home. If some of the money that is made from National
Lottery was put into the cost of each purchase, then it would reduce
the cost to each family.

Monaghan Shopping centre have just installed a defibtech lifeline AED defibrillator. They had the launch on Saturday 13th November 2004. Lets hope more of these lifesaving devices are put into the community.

i have come accross 2 type of defibrilators which are price vastly differently. One is for 2000eur incl vat the other is 4000eur incl vat.
any idea whats the difference in these items and what are the most important features to consider when choosing a defibrilator for use in non medical enviroment. ie Golf/GAA Club.

Members of the public should be trained how to use a defibrillator, and every public place should have one. They're easy to use and when seconds count knowing what to do can save lives!

I would agree that this is an excellent idea but from experience you still have to have joe public being able to perform CPR. I would hate to think that people would get the idea that this replaces CPR, it doesn't, they both work in tandem

My Dad died on the street from a
massive heart attack. He fell flat
on his face and nobody helped him.
He was dead on arrival at the Mater
Hospital so they could not do anything to revive him.
