Award for epilepsy carers

Brainwave, the Irish Epilepsy Association, has announced the second annual Best Epilepsy Standards Today (BEST) Health Award.

This award recognises the efforts of individuals and teams trying to develop better healthcare for the 500,000 people with Epilepsy in Ireland and the UK.

The BEST award, an initiative of the Joint Epilepsy Council, aims to raise awareness of the condition and to encourage epilepsy service improvements within Ireland and the UK.

Nominations for the awards can be made by patients or their family members, voluntary groups and volunteers, primary practice and specialist nurses, health visitors, GPs and pharmacists.

The award is open to individuals or teams working in health or social care

According to Brainwave, inadequacies in epilepsy services in Ireland need immediate attention, and the BEST award is an ideal way of recognising best practice and the way things should be done for all people with epilepsy.
