People fear illness more than redundancy Despite the severe impact of the current economic depression, most people would still regard serious illness, rather than losing their job, as their greatest fear, according to our latest readers' poll.
We asked readers what would worry them most at the moment.
Three out of four people (75%) said their greatest worry would be either becoming ill themselves, or a family member becoming ill.
Only 19% said losing their job or a reduction in their income would be their greatest concern at the moment.
Only four per cent said environmental issues such as global warming were their greatest worry at present, while 2% of those who responded to the poll said they did not worry about any of the issues above.
