Description |
The Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease was founded in 1984 by a group of sufferers and their families.
We organise public meetings throughout the country at which lectures are given by doctors, gastroenterologists, surgeons and dieticians.
The ISCC offers members someone to talk to and share problems and solutions 3 mornings a week; Yearly newsletters; a series of meetings & lectures countrywide between September and April each year; and support in times of need.

Additional Information |
Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (collectively called Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD) are chronic illnesses for which there is at present no known causes or cures.
Both sexes can suffer equally and Inflammatory Bowel Disease can strike at any age from the very young child to the older person. There is no known cause for the onset of the symptoms, which will include, pain, diarrhoea, fever, loss of appetite and loss of weight.
