Before you go abroad for a holiday or on business check if the country requires certain vaccinations. Also get your doctor's advice if you have any illness prior to departure. When visiting any other country, sufficient medical insurance is strongly recommended. You should check with your travel agent on the amount of insurance you will need and include enough cover for the extra cost of travelling home in an emergency.

The content of this travel vaccination calculator is for information purposes only and offers only general advice. This calculator does not replace the need for professional advice. The status for certain countries can change from time to time. You should always seek professional advice from your family doctor. When travelling abroad the risks of catching a disease can vary.

Obviously if you are staying in a first class resort the risks are different to a situation where you are backpacking. Common sense is important, so be careful in your selection of food and drink.
