Chest pains - could I have angina?
I am in my middle twenties and I have been suffering from random sharp pains in the left side of my chest over the last few months. Sometimes they can be so sharp that my body will buckle with the pain, but they only last for short periods of time, and can happen when I am driving or walking. Could this be angina?
It is unlikely that you are suffering from angina given your age and the nature of the pain that you describe. However recurring chest pain should be medically assessed especially when it is of an intensity to make you buckle. It is more likely that the sharp pains you are describing are coming from the wall of your chest rather than the heart or lungs. This needs to be confirmed by a medical examination and I advise that you should see your GP.
