I feel a click in my right ear every time I take a deep breath and then exhale . This is very annoying. It's been happening for the last week. I am a male, aged 33. What’s causing this?
When you take a deep breath or yawn you open up the entrance to the Eustachian tube, which connects the back of the throat with the middle ear. As you exhale some of the exhaled air goes up the Eustachian tube and can displace any fluid that might be present. This movement of air can also cause some displacement of the eardrum, which in turn could be pressing against some impacted earwax in the outer ear. Since you are finding this to be quite annoying it would be sensible to have your ears examined to check for fluid or wax.
