I have recently been screened and tested negative for T.B.
What are the long-term effects?
Presumably you were screened because you had been in contact with a person with Tuberculosis. Since the results have proven to be negative you do not require treatment or further follow up. You do not need to worry about the future since the testing has put you in the clear. If however you came in close contact with a person with TB in the future you would need to be screened again. There is an organised system of contact tracing that is organised by the public health doctors responsible for the district in which you reside. They would contact you if you were on their list of people who had been in contact with a newly diagnosed case of TB.
