Alcohol and aggression
I have a friend that has problems with aggression and alcohol. Can you please advise which agencies to contact?
Alcohol and aggression is a dangerous cocktail that is not easy to deal with. It may be that your friend is aggressive because he/she drinks too much or perhaps he/she is suffering some deep inner distress that makes him/her turn to alcohol for some comfort. Either way your friend will need to curtail consuming alcohol. There are several alcoholism treatment centres in most health boards throughout the country and they would be a useful point of first contact. Alcoholics anonymous also provide very useful practical help and support to alcoholics and their families and friends. Their contact numbers are in the phone book and on our home page if you click on “patient support groups”.
