I have a slight discharge coming from both breasts. I am not pregnant and I donít feel any lumps. What can be causing this?
It is not unusual for the breasts to discharge and this can happen in perfectly normal people. The fact that it is happening from both breasts indicates that the system of hormonal control that governs lactation is intact. Sometimes the breasts can discharge due to high levels of prolactin, which may be relevant if you were hoping to become pregnant. High prolactin levels can affect your ability to conceive. Your GP can test for high prolactin levels with a simple blood test.
