Oral thrush - transmit to partner?

Iím a 42 year old male with oral thrush which I'm treating. I'd like to know if I can infect my female partner with this by kissing, oral sex etc. Can I infect her mouth or vagina?

Oral thrush is due to infection with Candida albicans. It is certainly possible to transmit it to your partnerís mouth or vagina, which could result in either oral or vaginal thrush. It is not common for men to get oral thrush, which raises the question that you might have originally acquired it through oral sex with your partner. It is not unusual for women to have Candida in the vagina and not have symptoms therefore the organism could have been transmitted unwittingly by your partner. That consideration apart you should avoid intimate contact with your partner until the infection has been successfully eliminated.
