Hepatitis A - booster injection?

I had a Hepatitis A jab in Ireland in late May 2002. I am just wondering when I should have the follow-up one to increase the immunity from Hepatitis A from one year to a potential 10 years. Also, do you know how much this costs in Ireland?

According to the most recent guidelines from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland a booster dose for Hepatitis A should be given 6 to 12 months after the initial vaccination in order to extend the period of immunity for up to 10 years. The cost of receiving the vaccine varies depending on where it is performed. You could have it administered by your GP or you could attend a travel vaccination centre. Some GPs charge their basic consultation fee for the service and add on the price of the vaccine plus a mark-up on the cost to them of obtaining the vaccine. Prices can vary between GPs and between GPs and travel clinics therefore if price is an important issue for you then you should check prices before you attend.
