Nail infection - treatment very long?
I have a fungal nail infection on one of my toes. My chemist says a long-term treatment with tablets is the best course of treatment for this. Is there any other option, as I do not like the idea of taking tablets for a year?
Fungal nail infections are notoriously difficult to eradicate and treatment usually has to be continued for an extended period of time. Sometimes it may take longer than a year for the infection to be eliminated. There are various lotions and paints that can be applied directly to the nail and these would be an alternative for you to consider. However, they still have to be applied for an extended period of time. There is no quick fix solution to the problem of fungal nail infection.
