STD clinics - Dublin?

I would like to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases. I believe syphilis is on the increase and I am very worried that I have some of the symptoms. Please help. I would rather not go to my GP. I live in Dublin.

Many people are understandably embarrassed about attending their GP regarding concerns about sexually transmitted diseases. However, it could be that you are worrying unnecessarily about the possibility of syphilis and your GP could well address your fears on that issue without having to refer you on. Since you live in Dublin you also have the option of attending the STD clinics at either The Mater Hospital or St Jamesís Hospital. STI clinics take place in the Mater on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. There is a vaccine clinic Thursday afternoon and a genital wart treatment clinic on Friday morning. All clinics in the Mater are by appointment only and are free of charge. Clinic times subject to change so patients must book in by phoning 01-8032063. The clinic at St Jamesís Hospital is by appointment only. Appointments can be made by phoning 4537941 Ext. 2315 or 2316. There is no charge for the service at St Jamesís either. Both hospitals will maintain absolute confidentiality about your visits and will not communicate with your GP unless you request that they do so.
