Oral sex - HIV risk?

Is it possible for a male to contract HIV or another STD by simply receiving oral sex?

In answering your question I assume you mean that the male penis is in somebody else’s mouth. In that case the risk of developing an STD or HIV infection through unprotected oral sex is lower than that of unprotected anal or vaginal sex. However, a risk still exists even if it is of a lower order. Furthermore if a person engages in unprotected oral sex on a frequent basis and with a variety of partners their luck might eventually run out and they could become infected. The rules of safe sex still apply in relation to oral sex. The message is clear. Wear a condom.
