Circumcision - pain relief?

Is there much pain for an adult after being circumcised?

Circumcision in adult males does result in postoperative pain but that pain can be satisfactorily relieved. The procedure is performed under a general anaesthetic and within the first twenty-four hours after the procedure the person may require a pain relieving injection. Thereafter oral painkillers usually provide satisfactory relief. These drugs may need to be taken on a regular basis for the first few days but later in the week they can then be taken as the need arises. Most people are free of significant pain by the end of the week. If you were scheduled to undergo this procedure I would not allow fear of pain to act as a deterrent. Pain control post circumcision can be managed satisfactorily.
