Womb - abnormal position?

I recently went for a scan as I had a stomach infection. While I was there the doctor also checked around my ovaries and other internal organs. She noted that my uterus was "lopsided". I understood this to mean that it is lower down on the left hand side. She gave me the impression that it was a problem and said she would write to my GP. However, my GP said that it was nothing to worry about, as I am not planning on having children at the moment. Should it be something to be concerned about when I do start a family?

It is very unlikely that you have anything to worry about on the basis of a simple alteration in the position of the womb. Assuming that your reproductive system is otherwise normal there is no reason why this positional change should reduce the probability of becoming pregnant. You do not need to take any action on this matter.
