My Father is 77 and has been complaining of being breathless and the other day while crossing a field he had to stop a number of times to get his breath back. On one occasion he was on his knees fighting for breath. Could it be his heart? Should he see a doctor as soon as possible or just slow down and take things easy?
Your father should see his doctor. There are a number of possible causes for his condition including his heart. Despite his age these symptoms are not acceptable and could get worse if not attended to. I donít think that slowing down would be an adequate response to his condition. He really needs to be medically assessed. I would be hopeful that his current level of breathlessness could be significantly relieved.
