Flu injection - contraindicated?

I am taking anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant medication for a muscle strain. Is it ok to get the flu injection while on these medications?

It is perfectly safe for you to have the flu vaccine even though you are currently taking medication for a muscle strain. The flu vaccine is given intramuscularly, which means it is injected into a muscle. The muscle chosen is usually the deltoid muscle, which forms a muscle covering over the shoulder joint. If that muscle were painful it would be reasonable to defer vaccination for the moment on the basis of considerations of personal comfort. However, it is not necessary to defer on the basis of medical safety. If your shoulder muscles are not painful it is safe to proceed with the vaccination.
