The pill - need for condoms?

I am on the contraceptive pill but I do not understand on what time of the month should I use condoms?

There is no need to use condoms at any stage of the month while taking the contraceptive pill. You are still protected by your pill even during your seven-day pill break. However, the preceding statements only relate to contraception and do not relate to prevention of sexually transmitted disease (STD). If you are sexually active and are not certain if you are at risk of STD you should use protection such as condoms. It is astonishing the number of people who put themselves at risk of STD while using the pill. The pill protects you from getting pregnant not from developing STD.
