Antidepressant medication

I have been taking an antidepresant for the past month. The feelings of utter tiredness have not improved. In fact I find myself possibly even more tired, waking up numerous times during the night and sweating heavily. Is this part of the depression or is it a side effect of the medication?

Modern antidepressants are very effective drugs but the onset of subjective improvement in symptoms can take a month or more. I would be hopeful that your symptoms would improve over the course of the coming weeks. I suspect that your symptoms of sleep disturbance and sweating are due to the depression and not the medication. Keep taking your medication and visit your GP for review over the next few weeks.
