I have psoriasis and am wondering if it is safe to donate blood?

Psoriasis is not a contraindication to donating blood. It is not a transmissible disease therefore the person receiving the blood donation is not at risk of acquiring psoriasis from a donor with psoriasis. The principal excluding criteria for donating blood relate to the potential of transmitting infection to the recipient. There are also some excluding criteria where it might not be in the best interest of the potential donors to have their blood taken.
