Tender lump in armpit?

I have noticed a tender lump under my left arm and last night my friend told me she noticed it too. I have had some before but they went after 2 to 3 days but I've had this for the last 3 to 4 weeks. Would you have any advice?

The fact that the lump is tender indicates that inflammation is present. This could be due to a small boil or possibly a developing abscess. An inflamed gland in the armpit is also a possibility. These various tender lumps are quite common and many of them clear up spontaneously within a few days. The lump you describe has been present for 4 weeks therefore I would recommend that you see your GP. You may need an antibiotic or you may possibly need to have the lump drained. Either way you should not be unduly worried about the outcome because tender lumps in the armpit are usually not found to be sinister.
