New teen sex survey

[Posted: Thu 25/10/2001 www.irishhealth.com]

A new survey on teen sexuality will be released tonight on 'The Health Show' on RTE 1 television. It is often reported that many Irish teenagers have their first sexual experience by the age of 15 - but is this true?

The survey involved one hundred people aged between 16-18 years.

A group of teenagers discuss sex on the show.

The programme will also focus on osteopathy and how 'fresh' is fresh food in the supermarket.

The Health Show is broadcast live at 7pm.

I dont think teenagers are completely honest about their sexual experiences and especially when they are together and in front of a national television audience. In other words they are playing to the cameras. If someone at the age of 15,16,17 or 18 has not had a sexual experience they will undoubtedly say they have had one

Brings me back to my youth as a teenage girl. If you went with a guy (not necessarily full sexual interecourse) you were easy. If you didnt you were frigid. You were damned if you did and damned if you didnt. I wonder is it still the same for young girls out there today? Im sure it is!
