One more person with COVID-19 has died

One more person with COVID-19 has died in the Republic, bringing the number of deaths here to 1,741.

A further 11 cases of the virus have also been confirmed, bringing the total number of cases here to 25,509.

There are currently 22 confirmed cases in hospital, 11 of whom are in ICU. Three people have been admitted to hospital with the virus in the last 24 hours, while one person has been discharged.

To date, over 454,000 tests have been completed, including over 8,000 in the last 24 hours.

Of the 25,476 cases reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Centre by midnight on July 2, 25% (6,471) were in the 65+ age group - the worst affected age group - while just under 2% (502) were in the 0-14 age group.

The virus has been confirmed in over 8,200 healthcare workers - 32% of cases overall.
