No new deaths from COVID-19 reported

No new deaths from COVID-19 have been reported today, leaving the total number of deaths here at 1,715.

Just six new cases of the virus have been confirmed, while one case has been denotified, bringing the total number of cases here to 25,379.

Commenting on the news, the Minister for Health, Simon Harris, said that "days like this are a cause for hope and re-energise us all to keep going and to follow closely pubic health advice".

There are currently 41 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in hospital, with 17 cases in ICU. There are also 137 suspected cases in hospital.

The latest data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows that over 3,200 people have been hospitalised during the pandemic, including 419 in ICU.

Healthcare workers account for more than 8,150 cases.
