Women asked to take part in maternity survey

Women who have had a baby in Ireland in the past five years have been invited to take part in a national survey evaluating women's experiences and choices of birth.

AIMS Ireland, the maternity services consumer group, has just launched its 2014 'What Matters to YOU' survey for women who have given birth in Ireland between 2010 and 2014.

Co-Chair of AIMS, Krysia Lynch, said it was important to hear what users of the maternity service in Ireland have to say, both good and bad.

"We hope to paint a picture of what maternity services in Ireland look like for families using them and to make sure their voices are heard"

The survey was launched on Mother's Day last month and so far there have been 1,000 responses.

"We would encourage every woman in Ireland who has used the maternity services in the past five years to use this opportunity to provide feedback on their care," Ms Lynch said.
