Minister signs link deal with China

Health Minister James Reilly has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with his Chinese counterpart, Chen Zhu on cooperation in health matters.
The agreement, signed during the Minister's official visit to China, covers health regulation; e-Health and telemedicine; medical professional training; health promotion; maternal and child health; hospital standards and traditional Chinese Medicine.
Dr Reilly said means of co-operation would include exchanging experience, knowledge and information; exchange of specialists for study and consultation and the encouragement of direct links between health institutions in both countries.
The new MOU renews a previous MOU which had been in place between 2004 and 2009.
