Young blamed for binge-drinking

The Irish public believes that young people have only themselves to blame for in binge-drinking in their age cohort.

We asked Irishhealth.com visitors who they thought was principally to blame for binge-drinking among young people.

Sixty-three per cent placed the blame with young people themselves; only 4% identified publicans, while one in 12 (8%) blamed the drinks industry.

However, 25% of those who took part in the poll believed that parents should take the responsibility for their children's binge-drinking.
