The home care/home support service run by the Alzheimer Society of Ireland assigns a trained dementia care worker to to provide support and care
in a person’s residence for a designated number of hours per week.

In doing so, the care worker will offer stimulation and activity for the person with dementia and a welcome break for the carer.

Before a care worker goes into the home, the needs of the person with dementia and their family are carefully assessed by the Home Care Co-ordinator
who meets with the family to determine how best the service can help.
